Every dog has taught me something
It was my first geriatric rescue, adopted at ten years old, who changed how I saw dogs altogether.
He taught me about welfare, about understanding a dog’s needs rather than my expectations of them, and about loving the dog in front of me rather than the one I thought I wanted.
He was the funniest dog with the biggest heart I’ve ever met. He looked for nothing and gave everything. I felt honoured to give him a retirement home for his last two years.
These days that’s Marley and Seamus, two rescue dogs. Seamus often works alongside me in sessions.
I have a reactive dog myself too. So when you tell me about the walk that went wrong, or the moment you felt embarrassed by something your dog did, I’ve been there.
It’s one of the reasons I don’t do judgement.
