Privacy policy

This privacy policy explains how Pawsitive Choices collects, uses and stores your personal information when you visit this website or get in touch with me.

Who I am

Pawsitive Choices is run by Morag, based in Ayrshire, Scotland. I’m the person responsible for your data when you use this website.

What information do I collect?

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number
  • Any details you share with me about you and your dog when you get in touch

How do I collect your information?

  • When you fill in the contact or enquiry form on this website
  • When you email or message me directly

How do I use your information?

  • To reply to your enquiry
  • To arrange and provide training or behaviour support
  • To send you occasional updates about my services, if you’ve agreed to this (see Marketing, below)

I don’t sell your information to anyone. I may share it with trusted people who help me run this business, for example a booking system or email provider, and only where it’s needed to provide my services.

How do I store your information?

Your details are kept securely and only for as long as I need them, generally up to 6 months after your service has ended. After that, they’re deleted.

Marketing

From time to time I may email you about services that might be useful to you. You can opt out at any time by clicking unsubscribe on any email, or by emailing me directly.

Cookies

A cookie is a small file saved to your device when you visit a website. This site runs on WordPress, which can set a small number of technical cookies:

  • A test cookie, used briefly to check the site can set cookies at all. This only appears if someone tries to log in.
  • Login cookies, which only apply to me as the site owner when I’m managing the website. Visitors don’t receive these.

The contact form on this site uses Bricks’ native form element, which doesn’t set any additional cookies of its own. This website doesn’t use cookies for advertising, and it doesn’t track you across other websites.

Analytics

I use Plausible Analytics to understand how many people visit this site and which pages they find useful. Plausible is a privacy-friendly analytics tool. It doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t collect any information that identifies you personally, and doesn’t track you across other websites. It only reports anonymous, aggregated statistics, so I can never see who you are, just how the site as a whole is being used.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to ask what personal information I hold about you, ask me to correct it if it’s wrong, and ask me to delete it. To do any of this, just get in touch using the details below. If you’re unhappy with how your information has been handled, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time, for example if the website or the way I use data changes. Any changes will be posted on this page.

How to contact me

You can email me at info@pawsitivechoices.co.uk with any questions about this policy or your information.
